Two Bike Shops Celebrate Black History Month in Style
Oye Carr of MOD Squad Cycles in Harlem wanted to do something different this year for Black History Month. He came up with an idea that celebrated his African-American heritage and his love of cycling: donate 10% of the shop’s February proceeds to two Africa based charities, Project Rwanda being one of them.
Similarly, Southwest Bikes of Las Vegas, Nevada displayed a Project Rwanda Cargo Bike at their shop during Black History Month to both raise awareness of Project Rwanda while honoring co-owner Phil Watford’s heritage. As a result of the positive response from their clients, Southwest Bikes now carries Project Rwanda cycling jerseys and Wooden Bike Coffee.
Thank you MODSquad Cycles in Harlem, New York and Southwest Bikes in Las Vegas, Nevada for bringing Project Rwanda into your Black History Month celebration!
