The Ride for Rwanda : Cross-country fund raiser finishes in Norwalk CT
"The Ride for Rwanda" was completed on Sunday, August 3rd, in Norwalk CT. It was a 3,311 mile trip that took us through 12 states of Northern America. Traveling through those states we saw many places for the first time and spread the word about the work Project Rwanda is doing. Throughout the entire trip we were encouraged by a steady stream of hospitality everywhere we went. We had started the trip planning to camp almost every night but ended only spending six nights outside. The encouragement and the hospitality of strangers along the way in addition to remembering the Rwandans we were cycling for kept us pushing on.
Finishing on the 3rd was the culmination of a lot of hard work for all of us. The feeling of finishing the ride was something that I can not match with any other memory. Of course, we all hope that this is not the end of our relationship with Project Rwanda and the people of Rwanda. The finish was the close of one chapter in our participation but we all want to continue to work with Project Rwanda and we hope that our story of the ride will inspire more people to begin their own story with Project Rwanda.

Six students from Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles, and Grand Rapids, Mich. cycled across the country to raise awareness and money for Project Rwanda. They started on June 16th from Anacortes, WA and 3,311 miles later on August 3rd they rolled into Norwalk, CT.
FROM THE BLOG
Over $50,000 RAISED!!!!!
We just want to stop here and take some time to say Thank You! We are all very excited to report that we have now not only reached but exceeded our original goal of raising $40,000. That's right, we exceeded it. We have now raised over $50,000 for Project Rwanda.
We really are amazed and flattered. When we first started this ride we didn't know where it would take us but we knew we were going to do our best. And now, thanks to you, we have reached our goal. We are thankful to every donation and word of encouragement we have received! Special thanks to the churches and supporters who provided places to sleep along the way.
