Volunteer Opportunities

* Project Rwanda has 35 bikes donated by Schwinn to get to Rwanda. We would appreciate any volunteers to fly one with them to Rwanda. We will have the bike shipped to you - all you need to do is take it with you as your second piece of luggage. If you already have two pieces and are willing to pay for the shipping we will gladly write you a Tax Deduction letter.*

** IMPORTANT ** Please check with the airline as they all do not have the same policies for shipping bikes or carry on allowances. Some will take it as a second piece others will charge for the odd size.

British Airlines
Will allow the bike to go as one check in bag - no fee. They also have different baggage allowances depending on the 'class' of travel seat you have paid for. Until Sept 30 the weight allowance is 70 lbs per bag.
Brussels Air
It seems as though bikes are to be paid for per one way. Please call to confirm what is on their site.

* Tax Deduction: Send us your receipt for the overweight payment and we will send you a donation receipt for the IRS.

Sight-Seeing Opportunities

Volcanoes National Park: $500 Permit Required. ($200 down per permit, balance paid when you take the trek.) Space available - 6 groups of 8 people each, please plan in advance to reserve your spot! You must purchase your Gorilla Tour Early we will have some available for you on given dates. Without your financial commitment we will not be able to hold your spot. The Rwandan Tourism Board holds very strict rules on the number of participants per day allowed to visit the Gorilla’s. The fee is $500 USD and in my experience is Totally worth it. You must be prepared to walk in the jungle "Good Shoes" and a camera. You will track the Gorillas until you find your family. Once found you will have 60 minutes with the family. This is an experience of a life-time!
