Description of Collective:

Local Athens is a group of artists, urban cyclists, musicians and activists based in Athens, Greece. Local Athens lives and creates at the public space of the city. In one of the most densely populated cities of Europe, suffering high urban pollution for over three decades and constantly under attack by the growing use of cars and especially SUVs, Local Athens finds comfort in pedal power. Our manifesto is the re-examination of the traditional mediterranean way of life, discovering a new relationship with nature, public space and the urban environment. We choose to create and not destroy, we choose to retain nature's way of life and not forget it, we choose to reclaim the public space of our city!
